Happy Birthday to me! I wanted to give you an inside look to the girl behind the dots. My name is Robin, and I’m the blue-haired (this month), coffee loving, adventurous soul, multipassionate creative founder and CEO behind Dotting the Details.
There’s a few things I’ve heard over and over in my life:
- How do you do it all?
- You give the best gifts
- You sure do know how to write a stellar thank you note
- Wow, you really get things done
I’ve always had a knack for details. About 1/4 is probably hard wiring of my brain (type A personality with a large dose of creativity), and 3/4 is watching my mom for 30+ years of my life–event planning, sales, merchandising, marketing, customer service, family life–she did it all (now she’s happily retired, and cheers me on).
While I may be “type A” and mostly have my shiz together, I never pretend I don’t have a laundry couch. Prior to 2020 I lived hard in hustle culture, but between the pandemic, a divorce, and a myriad of other life events, I learned to slow down a bit and spend more time celebrating everything and helping you do so as well!
So what exactly is Dotting the Details?
We help you celebrate everything–whether it’s a welcome gift for a new employee, gift totes for a bachelorette, client referral gifts, swag bags for your large corporate event, or a simple gift basket for house warming.
The business was born out of my need for a creative outlet and a need with changing health and family issues to work a schedule that fit my needs. I spent the first decade of my career in nonprofits. I loved it but my fiercely independent spirit was getting restless and was ready to take the business experience I learned and start something of my own. From there I evaluated what am I best at, AND most importantly, what am I passionate about? And then connected the dots into this business.
What about the blog, what's that about?
I want to share with you my expertise, insight, and ideas because I fully believe that anyone can be organized, pick out a great gift, or throw the perfect celebration–even if you’re not remotely creative or Type A. And, if you know that you can but don’t want to, I’m here to help with that too (check my services page).
Expect to see tips and hacks to dot the details of your own life including party planning, gift guides, organizing your daily-to-day, adding your personal touch, a little professional development, and lots of lifestyle fun from a thirty-something who will never pretend to be insta filter perfect.
For instance, this is my THIRD time relaunching this blog…because hey, life happens. And sometimes no matter how much we plan, how clean we intend to keep our house, how much we want to throw the perfect party, stuff happens. None of us are perfect, and that’s what makes life so fun. I’m just here to share the hacks and tips that I’ve learned along the way to help you be able to celebrate everything.
